"Life is a journey . . ."

. . . with lots of twists and turns.

VALLEY TOWN TOASTMASTERS promotes "Confidence through Communication and Leadership".

We care about our members and their families and we hope that our program helps them steer a happier course through life.
This page is dedicated to highlight the memorable events that occur in our members' families' lives.

February 26, 2009: John Goede (Cam's son) provides the opening speech that launches our club's February Funfest Open House & Contest Night.

April 9, 2009: Our members' band, UNCORKED!, uncorks at a local pub immediately after another fun Toastmaster meeting.

August 15, 2009: James Ferris, artist/band member/Toastmaster, displays his incredible scratchboard artwork at the Dundas Cactus Festival.

August 25, 2009: Julia Goede (Cam's daughter) proudly receives her baby sitting certification from the Honourable David Sweet, Member of Parliament (Ancaster-Dundas-Flamborough-Westdale).

September 6, 2009: One year ago, Yolanda Miller went to the Dundas Public Library to inquire where she could find the local Toastmasters club. "Downstairs, every Thursday evening", she was told. Since then, she has worked hard to improve her presentation skills for the purpose of growing her part-time evening business. Recently, Yolanda acquired a guest slot on Mohawk College's C101.5 FM Sunday Spanish broadcast. She discussed her business' products and its benefits to her customers. Yolanda also directed praise towards the Toastmaster program for her increased Confidence through Communication and Leadership.

October 20, 2009: Yolanda Velasco Miller became a member of a new club - CANADA.

On this day, the native of Mexico City officially jumped on board the greatest country in the world.

In front of family, friends and Toastmasters, Yolanda became a Canadian!

November 13, 2009: Viola Mueller, our fellow Toastmaster and Dundas Valley Sunrise Rotary Club member, was recently recognized at the Rotary District Conference for contributing her award winning art work towards funding the new skating rink in the Dundas Drive-In Park. The Sunrise Club was the recipient of two international awards for activities towards reducing child mortality and "Make Dreams Real" for the world's children. Thank you, Viola, for helping make our world a better place!
