This prized trophy was re-introduced to Area 51 on February 18, 2011 at its annual International Speech & Evaluation Contests.

If you look carefully, you can see the authentic brand "Toastmaster" logo on the lower centre facing.

(The Golden Toaster was "recovered" and refurbished to its previous glory by Valley Town President Kenrick Chin.)

The purpose of the Golden Toaster Award is to encourage the participating Area 51 clubs' members to visit the other clubs.

To obtain the Golden Toaster, a club can "steal" it from the "host" club by any one of the following methods:

1. Send one speaker and one evaluator by invitation to the host club. The speaker must provide a manual speech that is evaluated by the host club and the evaluator must evaluate a host member's speech;

2. For club meetings that have no speaking opportunities, send three members to visit the host club. The host club can offer to assign meeting roles to the visitors but acceptance is at the visitors' discretion.

The club stealing the Golden Toaster must notify the Chair of the Area 51 Planning Committee by email of the "theft".
